Chapter Eight

She slept for eighteen hours and when she woke up, craved whatever it was the doctor gave her. Erik provided it. She was slipping farther into addiction. Erik had created the perfect slave or so he thought. Nadine was under his absolute control and would do anything just to get another fix. That night, Erik had someone over who had paid for a night with Nadine. She had just gotten a shot and was feeling the effects when he walked in the room and raped her. She barely moved so he beat her to get her to respond. It became very rough, and Nadine had bruises over her body. He left and she fell asleep.

She woke up an hour later from a nightmare. The radio in her room was playing some opera, something dark and ominous which suited her mood. She listened and let the music weave its magic spell over her. As she started to drift off, an aria came on that held her spellbound. It was Nel dì delia vittoria from Macbeth. Maria Callas was singing and something about her voice acted as a spiritual elixir. She started to feel renewed as her memory began to return and felt the weight of her earlier murder begin to lift. A ray of hope appeared. She started to plan her revenge. She would take them all out, all the men who had taken advantage of her. She was now on a mission. She would become Kali, the destroyer of evil forces. “This is what I was meant to do” she said to herself as Erik walked in the room.

“Glad to see you’re awake. You know, Douglas wasn’t too happy with your performance. He paid good money and I expect you to give the men I bring over a good time. It’s the least you could do.”

Nadine looked at him as a powerful force was rising in her. She looked right at him and said, “I don’t owe you anything.”

“Who the fuck do you think you are, talking to me like that? You should be thankful I took you in. I’m going away for a few weeks and Hans will oversee the household. Don’t even think about leaving.”

He walked out of the room, leaving her lost in thought.

The next day, she noticed a black book and opened it. Erik had left it behind. It contained his contacts. She was able to find Steven and Philip from the yacht. She searched further and came across Douglas. All these men were worth millions and somehow involved in human trafficking.

Hans went in to check on her.

“Everything alright?” he asked.

“Could you come here for a second. I found something that I think Erik left behind.”

Hans walked over to her as she pointed to the black book. As he went to reach for it, she delivered a blow to his solar plexus and then kicked him in the balls. He screamed in pain. She got some rope and tied him up.

“Give me $50,000 or you’re a dead man.”

“I don’t have that kind of money.”

“I’m counting to ten. When I get to zero, I will break your right arm, then your left.”

“Okay, hold on.”

“That’s better. Tell me where my phone is.”

He unlocked a cabinet and gave it to her.

She had him transfer funds into her bank account.

She loosened the rope a bit.

“I’m leaving. I suggest you get out of here or burn in Hell.

She walked out the door and went into the garage. She siphoned some gas out of one of the cars and soaked a rag with it. She took out a lighter, lit the rag on fire and threw it next to the house. As the flames grew, she walked away. A plan was forming in her mind on how she would take out the three men who had raped her.
