Lucy's Uber pulled up, and she double-checked the license plate—you can't be too safe these days.

"Jeremy, right?" she asked, sliding into the back seat.

"That's me," the driver replied, a little too enthusiastically.

As they merged onto the 405, Lucy found herself wishing for the ride to end. But as they approached her exit on Washington, Jeremy drove right past it.

"Excuse me, but you just passed my exit," Lucy said, her heart beginning to race.

Jeremy's eyes met hers in the rearview mirror. "Oh, don't worry about it."

Now Lucy was really starting to freak out. "Where are you going?" she demanded.

His next words sent a chill down her spine: "You don't remember me, do you?"

As Lucy reached for her phone to call 911, she realized this night was about to become a nightmare she never saw coming.
